The Boone County Sheriff’s Office has a single K-9 officer assigned to Road Patrol.

Deputy Ashley Keadle and her partner, Leika, answer calls for service as well as many other specialized duties.

Deputy Keadle and Leika are certified to find narcotics in vehicles, open areas, and structures. Leika is trained in criminal apprehension and protection of her handler, as well as tracking of criminals or lost individuals.

Having a multi-purpose K-9 patrol on staff here at the Sheriff’s Office gives us many different tools as our disposal.
